Great Day For Up has a hard-hitting, eclectic sound that draws from the sounds of three cities, starting with a history of Albany bands including the Love Zombies, Dreams & Nightmares and Bone Oil. Add some classic New York rock and roll, in the form of vocalist Michael Langone, who split his Greenwich Village digs – and his band The Greys – to come north and front greatdayforup. And finish with the Boston jangle of guitarist Michael Vitali, who once fronted the Beantown power trio Ajna Chakra. The singer Michael Langone fronted the NYC band The Greys during the mid1990's they are an experimental/art rock band that played and had a large fan base throughout the city. guitarist michael vitali studied at berklee college of music in Boston, ma and formed the trio Ajna Chakra. Ajna Chakra played over 200+ gigs in NYC, Boston, NH and had established a huge fan base in the northeast. During that time Mike Vitali also played with members of Helmet, Sick Of It All, & Murphy's Law for a short period before deciding to stick it out in Boston with his band Ajna Chakra.
