The Skycam story starts in New York City in 2000, when Trevor Bajus (guitar, vocals), Joe Schorn (guitar, vocals), Denise Finnegan (organ, bass, key bass, vocals), and Rajanikanth Tanikella (drums) decided to get together and make some noise. Trevor and Raj's band Volley had just split up, and Joe and Denise were looking for something new following the demise of Jack Deluxe. It turned out to be a perfect fit.
Fans hear traces of Bedhead, Luna, Neil Young, and Yo La Tengo in the tightly interlocking guitars, pulsating organ, and syncopated drums. But give the band a close listen and let your own ears be your guide.
In 2000, the band recorded their demo "You'll Never Know How Close You Came," and has been playing regularly in New York City. The band just finished a new 5-song EP, which is scheduled to be released Fall 2001. |
