Montreal's Winter Gloves will first introduce themselves with the three-song, digital-only Let Me Drive EP – which features early versions of several tracks from their forthcoming debut full-length, about a girl.
But don't wait for your chance to hear the quartet, who endearingly dub themselves "glock-rock" for their use of the oft-ignored glockenspiel, began as the solo project of Charles F. (lead singer/songwriter/wurlitzer).

Pittsburgh's The Takeover UK aren't exactly dreaming of a white Christmas this year. The indie pop rockers have just recorded and released a Beach Boys-inspired Christmas song to help spread the holiday cheer. Download The Takeover UK's "Christmas in LA" for your holiday party mixtapes.
Formed less than a year ago, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour is heading for fame at a speed even they didn't expect. The band, led by Lars Iversen and Mette Lindberg, has barely begun to share their music with anyone outside of their hometown of Copenhagen, and yet their first UK single, "The Sun Ain't Shining No More," is already tickling the ears of delighted radio programmers across the pond. Another track, "The Golden Age," has mysteriously popped up on the playlist for "Passport Approved," a syndicated radio show broadcasting weekly on Indie 103.1 (Los Angles), WXPN and other "tastemaker" stations around the country. If that weren't enough, their song "Around the Bend" is currently being featured in ads for the new iPod Touch, and is available now on iTunes.
San Antonio punk trio Girl in a Coma, on Joan Jett's Blackheart Records label, have lent their talents to the 'A Blackheart Christmas' holiday album with covers of two famous Christmas songs, "Blue Christmas" and "I'll Be Home For Christmas." The holiday album is available now on iTunes.
Here's the girls' take on "Blue Christmas," a little bit country, a little bit rock n roll. The song, written by Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson, was recorded for the first time in 1948 by country singer Ernest Tubb. Elvis Presley made it a holiday classic when he recorded his version in 1957.
Don't be fooled by Findlay Brown's apparent youth – this guy can conjure up the ghosts of several decades worth of heart-searing love affairs, emotional road trips and the very essence of human longing.
His debut album Separated By The Sea was released in the UK on Peacefrog Records in February 2007 to critical acclaim, including a 5-star review in the Guardian, where Dave Simpson described it as the most unlikely classic of the year.

Oh Captain My Captain's arena ready riffs and knack for theatrics has earned them comparisons to Queen while their sprawling arrangements have been likened to Radiohead. Oh Captain My Captain's debut hit stores recently via Bladen County Records, who released records for the likes of the Builders and the Butchers (Willamette Week's Best New Portland Band winner), and is already stirring quite a buzz in Portland so its a matter of time before this great label becomes a household name.

As one half of The Raveonettes, Sune Rose Wagner has spent the past seven years offering up noir-ish gutter rock and fuzzed out pop with his bandmate Sharin Foo. This week, however, the Danish-bred songwriter takes his bow as a solo artist with his eponymous debut, ten tracks of vintage Specter-esque sounds and hazy rock n roll. The album comes on the heels of a successful year for the Raveonettes, whose February release Lust Lust Lust has already landed year-end accolades from Paste Magazine, MTV2, and a host of others. Distinctly setting it apart from his output with Foo, Wagner's solo album is delivered exclusively in his native tongue. But, don't fret, Danish is a beautiful language, complimenting the US transplant's soothing coo perhaps even better than the English he employs on countless Raveonettes releases. The stand-out here is the blissful "Beruset of Forhadt," available for download below.
While The Deep Vibration was in the studio with producer Niko Bolas (Neil Young, My Morning Jacket), they recorded way more tracks than what ended up on their debut EP, Veracruz. Some songs were to be kept for their upcoming LP. Some didn't fit the intended mood of the EP. But the always prolific band didn't let that stop them from pushing their own boundaries and experimenting with unique and different sounds of "alt country." Bringing a harder edge to their previous work and if the song calls for it, incorporating horns.
