Ancestors, Night Horse Get Ready For European Tour

Ancestors and Night Horse are set to begin a tour in support of their April 15th appearance at the internationally renowned Roadburn Festival. The tour will begin on April 9th in Essen, Germany. These will be the first overseas shows for both bands.

Formed in 2006, Ancestors create mighty, modern music that dovetails innovative arrangement, crushing primordial riff interplay and melodic instrumental passages with textural "metalgaze" atmospherics. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Infrasonic Sound by Pete Lyman, (The Mars Volta, Beck, No Age), the band’s new album Of Sound Mind is an 8-part, hour-long experience that is at once passionate, bold and challenging. Described as “A journey through the past into the future,” the album showcases Ancestors ever-evolving musicianship and metrics, which have drawn comparison to Neurosis, Hawkwind, King Crimson, Om and (early) Black Sabbath. Of Sound Mind injects an intoxicating mien into the soul of hard rock and vintage metal and seethes with both analog warmth and astute atmosphere. Essentially conceptual in nature, Of Sound Mind lyrically and thematically contemplates the quandaries of human psychology and its effect on and within the development of modern society. With both thunderous roar and expansive communiqué, Ancestors are proving to be a quickly-emerging force of musical power and creativity.

Night Horse exploded on to the Los Angeles rock scene in 2008, playing their first live show ever, while mixing their debut EP The Dark Wont Hide You for Tee Pee Records. Night Horse has caught the ears and eyes of critics and fans alike with their unique ability to blend the greater aspects of rock music with a much needed breath of contemporary fresh air. “If Sonic Youth had been immersed in an ocean of Allman Brothers inspiration, or Soundgarden had been steeped in late '60s Fleetwood Mac, then they might have turned out something like this. Night Horse take traditional blues-rock, spark it up with riotously noisy flashes and drag the rhythms through an early '90s grunge experience. Moreover, they’re cohesive, charismatic and compelling.”

Night Horse have kicked off 2010 full steam ahead. Recording their yet to be titled new full length in 5 days with esteemed producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, The Sword, etc) to be released this summer, a song in Sony Playstation's MLB 10: The Show, a scheduled 'free' digital ep to be released thru Topspin Media (NIN,The Beastie Boys, etc) to coincide with a mini UK/European tour with a stop at the legendary "Roadburn Festival' in Holland, and now a documentary of the tour filmed and directed by the band themselves in conjunction with Converse. What else does this Los Angeles hard rocking 5 piece have in store? Stay tuned.
