Big Search Announce White Iris 7"

White Iris Records, the label counterpart to Black Iris, has announced the release of the Big Search's latest recording. The two-track limited edition vinyl 7" is available on January 18 via White Iris. To celebrate the release, Big Search are making the first track of the double a-side "Middle Man" available for free download. You can grab it from Los Angeles Times.

You're gonna to have to buy the wax or MP3 to check out the double a-side "Getting Warm." Keep a look out for the band's upcoming full-length to be released in 2011. Big Search will be hosting a record release show, presented by Origami Vinyl, in Los Angeles, CA on February 2 at The Echo as well as gearing up for SXSW in March.

Big Search is the alter ego of present-day Los Angelino Matt Popieluch. Best known as the singer and co-songwriter of Foreign Born, he has also collaborated over the past decade with the likes of Fool's Gold, Glasser, Cass McCombs, Papercuts and John Webster Johns. All the while, the lion's share of his creative output has been recorded under the Big Search nom de guerre, the relentless expansion of what he describes as "an elastic, mental puzzle based on intuition and luck."

Having bowed out from all other musical engagements, Popieluch is now focusing the whole of his energy on Big Search and is presently finishing up his next studio album at White Iris' Studios in Echo Park.
