Bonnaroo Sells Out

Superfly Presents and A.C. Entertainment have announced that Bonnaroo 2011 has sold out. 80,000 fans are now set to come celebrate the 10th year of this legendary summer event from June 9 - 12 in Manchester, TN, whose dynamic and eclectic programming has paved the way for the age of the great American music festival. Bonnaroo has evolved into becoming much more than just the premier multi-day concert destination; it is now a cultural touchstone and, for two generations of music fans, a rite of passage.

Festival organizers are eager to get a few messages out to the attendees this year. Now that the festival is sold out, no one should show up without a wristband. There will not be any sales at the gates, and all people looking for tickets will be turned away. To avoid scams, there aren't any paper tickets and only wristbands purchased through the Bonnaroo ticket website are guaranteed to be authentic, with properly coded and activated RFID technology. Fake or deactivated wristbands may look like the real thing, but they will be identified by Bonnaroo's scanning system at the front gates. Those in possession of fake wristbands - or ones reported lost or stolen - will not be admitted to the festival. An important note is that attendees should not put on their wristbands before arrival. They will be secured on their wrists by festival staff at the gates upon entrance.

Bonnaroo will now officially open its gates on Wednesday evening June 8th at 7:00PM to allow more time for vehicles to enter the campgrounds. Historically, the longest delays for arriving attendees have occurred from 4:00AM to 7:00PM on the Thursday of the event, so fans should consider these peak delay times when planning their trip.

Lastly, organizers are also, as always, encouraging fans to carpool and have set up a contest for all carpoolers to win a VIP upgrade to be randomly chosen for the following prizes:

  • 1st place: 3 cars from each tollbooth automatic VIP upgrade!
  • 2nd place: 3 cars at each tollbooth get 2 vendor tokens per person in the car
  • 3rd place: 3 cars at each tollbooth get a Bonnaroo water bottle
