The British Music Embassy has added shows to their 2011 SXSW line up at downtown Austin's Latitude 30, located at 512 San Jancinto Blvd. With regionally focused events all day and British brands hosting SXSW showcases in the evening, the project will return for a 4th year to highlight the UK's brightest new acts.
The updated line-up includes NME @ SXSW in association with PRS for Music official showcase on Wednesday, March 16th featuring performances from Grouplove, Darwin Deez and more. Protecting the world's most talented music writers, composers and publishers, PRS for Music ensures royalties are acquired and paid when their members' music is exploited. On Thursday, March 17th premiere Belfast event listing site, Belfast Rocks, will host an afternoon event with headliners General Fiasco.
PRS for Music's BMA (British Music Abroad) Brunch will kick off the events for Friday, March 18th. Friday evening's performances include Bombay Bicycle Club, Esben And The Witch, and more, as BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens presents an official showcase in conjunction with UK licensing company PPL, and leading British publication the Guardian.
It's a battle of the regions on Saturday, March 19th as Yorkshire & North East and Liverpool & The North West throw SXSW day parties with Pulled Apart by Horses and The Answering Machine headlining. Wichita Recordings (Best Coast, Bloc Party, Cloud Nothings) and the Association for Independent Music (AIM) will wrap up the festivities in the evening with an official showcase featuring Those Dancing Days, Frankie & The Heartstrings, and more noted below!
