Cheap Trick Announce Tours With Squeeze, Blondie

Cheap Trick has announced additional tour dates in support of the self-released album "The Latest," which garnered the title of the #1 selling 8-track in the world in 2009. The reigning kings of power-pop will co-headline select dates with Squeeze in July including shows in New York City, Boston and Philadelphia. The band then joins up with Blondie to co-headline in August and September.

Cheap Trick can also be seen on television later this year performing on the PBS series Austin City Limits and Soundstage and a special on HD Net (air dates to be announced).

"The Latest" has garnered positive reviews from critics and fans alike. The Associated Press declares the album "sounds like a bunch of amped-up 20-year olds gleefully bashing away in a garage for nothing more than the sheer joy of plugging in, turning it up all the way and rocking out." "The Latest is vintage Cheap Trick - power pop delivered with humor, bravado and confidence, the guitars roaring, Robin Zander's voice high in flight," states The Wall Street Journal.

Cheap Trick formed in the city of Rockford, IL in 1974. The multi-platinum band has sold over 20 million albums and had numerous hits including "Surrender," "I Want You to Want Me" and "Dream Police." Cheap Trick features Robin Zander - vocals and guitar, Rick Nielsen - guitar and backing vocals, Tom Petersson - bass and backing vocals, and touring drummer Daxx Nielsen.
