Brooklyn's Clare and the Reasons, fronted by Clare and Olivier Manchon, released a brand new album, "Live In Amsterdam," this week via Frog Stand Records to coincide with their fall double-billed tour with Van Dyke Parks.
"Live In Amsterdam," recorded at the Paradiso in June, will be available worldwide on iTunes, and physical CDs will be available only at the label's website and at live shows. The album features the band with a horn section, including members of the Orchestre de Paris and the Royal Concertgebough Orchestra, as well as a special appearance by Van Dyke Parks on the piano. Check out their collaborative live track, the classic Harry Nilsson song "He Needs Me," available for MP3 download.
After a string of shows on the West Coast with Van Dyke Parks, Clare and the boys returned to Europe again this summer for a handful of concerts, including Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival and London's Meltdown Festival. The band just returned from a successful week at Tokyo's Cotton Club, and will return in November to perform at De La Fantasia Festival.
Just before the US tour kicks off, Clare and the Reasons will be sent to Paris by Vogue Magazine to perform at Paris Fashion Week. The group's music has been featured in two French films - "Jusqu'à toi" and "Les Nuits de Sister Welch," as well as advertisements for Parmalat Milk and Ferrero.
