After a very successful tour of Europe together and two sold out North American shows (one at NYC's Madison Square Garden, the other at Montreal's Bell Centre) in 2010, Metropolis recording artists Combichrist will be joining Rammstein as direct support on their full North American tour in May. Kicking off on May 5th at The Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ, the two bands will travel across the country for what will undoubtedly be an amazing evening of beat-driven metal and industrialized mayhem. In addition to these dates, Combichrist has announced headlining shows with iVardensphere and Star Killer in support of their fifth studio album "Making Monsters," which was released last Fall. These shows will run concurrently on off nights with Rammstein and will extend into June.
Never a band to shy away from controversy, Combichrist unleashed a highly violent and NSFW video for "Throat Full of Glass" which Push to Fire calls, "a grindhouse-fest par excellence... Guns, girls, blood, boobs and dirty money galore ... alongside some massive beats! What more could you want?"
Combichrist's much lauded and respected live shows are, as Crypt Magazine describes, "known for tons of energy, blood, and a rock n' roll attitude." BlogCritics also warns it's "not for the faint of heart - you wouldn't bring your grandmother to this show."
"Making Monsters" was released on September 28, 2010, via Metropolis Records. The live incarnation is comprised of Andy LaPlegua, longtime live drummer Joe Letz (Amen, Emigrate), keyboardist Z. Marr (Pull Out Kings), and Trevor Friedrich (Eighteen Visions, Imperative Reaction, Suffer Well). Abbey Nex (Psyclon 9, Genitorturers) will also be accompanying the band as a guitarist on this tour.
