Dangerbird Records, the label that has spent the better part of the past decade bringing you possibly thee best shit in indie rock music will infiltrate the massive sea of humanity that has become the Austin music conference, South by Southwest with an official showcase at Mellow Johnny's, outpost of world famous cyclist (and music fan) Lance Armstrong.
The line-up will feature the label's current brightest and best, including notable Dangerbird vets, The Dears and Eulogies, who have most recently been caught sharing stages along the west coast in support of critically acclaimed, brand spanking new albums, (respectively Degeneration Street, released in January and Tear The Fences Down, to be released on March 22) and ex-Promise Ring members, Maritime who are set to release their brilliant fourth LP Human Hearts, on April 5th. Also performing will be The One AM Radio, who release their electro-tinged indie pop opus Heaven Is Attached By A Slender Thread on April 12 and the Limousines, an undeniably brash, and equally seductive electro pop duo from San Francisco, who will release Get Sharp on April 19.
The soulful indie-rock of LA's own The Fling will grace the Texas capital for the first time, playing songs from their upcoming debut LP, When The Madhouses Appear. And lest we forget, the neo-retro soul of Fitz And The Tantrums, whose single "Moneygrabber" is currently taking over much of the western world.
Doors are at 7pm and please note, THIS IS AN OFFICIAL SXSW SHOWCASE AND REQUIRES WRISTBAND OR BADGE TO ENTER!
MELLOW JOHNNY'S is at 400 Nueces Street, Austin, TX 78701
