After a successful west coast headlining run and a string of shows with Band of Horses, celebrated LA rock band Darker My Love will head out on a US tour with Delta Spirit. Beginning November 15th in Lawrence, KS, Darker My Love will be playing songs from their new album "Alive As You Are," which DJ Anne Litt of KCRW raved "is deep on emotion and long on heartache... that West Coast optimism seeps into the music making it a perfect tonic for my heart."
The follow up to the band's breakthrough album "2," "Alive As You Are" is "a beautifully realized evocation of the psychedelic, country-tinged fringes of '60s pop" according to Uncut. The Guardian hailed it as "a psychedelic record with great affection for the Byrds and the Beatles, but played with the discipline and pithiness of former punks." Filter simply said that the record is "brimming with lyrical personality."
Darker My Love is currently offering two songs for free download - "Split Minute," which the OC Weekly applauded for its "uplifting chords and foot tapping beat" and "Dear Author," about which Buzzbands LA raves "between the insistent beat and the harmony saturate chorus, [it] glides straight to your sweet spot."
