Dot Dot Dot Stay Independent While Seeing Radio Play

For most independent local bands, performing 400 shows, selling 25,000 units, and promoting themselves on a TV series is something of a dream. But for Chicago's Dot Dot Dot, it's business as usual. And what makes them even more exceptional is that they've been able to do all this and more in only three short years without support from record labels or agents.

The band's recent release is a five-track EP of pop songs, titled simply, "I." It is currently charting on the College Music Journal Top 200 chart and has been added to over 180 college radio stations across the country. One of the band's songs was recently licensed for an international retail ad campaign. The band is also preparing a national commercial radio and media campaign with a new track from their anticipated release in early 2010.

Their reputation for blending original music and cover songs into a supercharged live show has earned them thousands of devoted fans, as reflected by heavy MySpace and Facebook traffic. The band tours continuously in the Midwest and has been a support act for national artists such as Cobra Starship, Girl Talk, Third Eye Blind, Candlebox, and Matisyahu. The next batch of show starts in February and will include some spring break dates, special all-ages shows, and many stops in college towns.
