Ryan Seaman (former drummer of I Am Ghost) has joined Salt Lake City's The Brobecks.
Seaman has been drumming since the age of 15, first with SLC locals The Teen Tragedies, then joining as the only male member of The Eyeliners. After moving to LA in 2003, Seaman played in a few bands before permanently joining I Am Ghost on Epitaph Records. After his exit from the band in late 2007, he was recruited by various bands as a studio and tour drummer, including his latest stint drumming for MySpace Drag-Pop sensation Jeffree Star.
Seaman says of joining The Brobecks, "I'm so excited to be a part of such a unique and exciting band. It feels great to be playing with a bunch of young, talented people who know what they want out of life, and are genuinely excited to be playing music. This is the band I've always wanted to be a part of."
The Brobecks, described by Spin as "Adorable, intelligent indie pop," will be playing Utah Radio Station X96's "Big Ass Show" on September 6th, with other bands will be announced in the weeks to come. The band will also be shooting a video for "2nd Boys Will Be First Choice" with director Greg Johnson.
In between recording and touring with The Brobecks, Seaman plans to continue diversifying and honing his drumming chops by touring and studio drumming.
Seaman has played drums for:
The Eyeliners (Lookout Records)
I Am Ghost (Epitaph Records)
Vanna (Epitaph Records)
Fairview (Militia Group/Sidecho)
I Am Ghost (Epitaph)
Kaitee Page (of the band Porcelain on Universal)
