Heavy Artillery Records labelmates Exmortus and Vektor are teaming up to spread their brand of progressive thrash metal across the United States with the Winter Mayhem Tour. The tour kicks off December 18th in Mesa, Arizona, and finishes up a month later on January 16th in LA.
Los Angeles based neo-classical death unit Exmortus unleashed their debut album "In Hatred's Flames" last year to much critical fanfare and will be set to record the follow up in the first half 2010. Exmortus are an entity amongst themselves and their music, both complex and thoroughly hook-laden, refuses to lend itself to easy categorization. From the technical death-thrash riffage and surgically precise drumming to their neo-classical, twin virtuoso lead guitar attack Exmortus has garnered interest from fans of death metal, thrash, prog metal, traditional heavy metal and all true metal sub-genres.
"Black Future," the debut album from Phoenix, AZ futuristic thrashers Vektor was recently released. Locked, loaded and heavily armed, Vektor are excited to take their show on the road to unsuspecting metal heads across the US for the very first time. Vektor employs an array of intricacy, virtuosity and a wholly unique sound that has set them apart from the growing legions of color-by-numbers thrash bands. Black Future is a seventy minute epic of diabolical space metal that stimulates the senses and challenges any preconceived limits to what a metal album can be.
