Canvasback/Atlantic recording group Frightened Rabbit has announced details of its upcoming North American summer tour. The acclaimed Scottish rock outfit will join labelmates Death Cab for Cutie on the road beginning July 27th at Columbus, Ohio's LC Outdoor Amphitheatre, followed by major shows across the US and Canada. Frightened Rabbit is currently writing their much-anticipated Canvasback/Atlantic debut LP. The as-yet-untitled collection is scheduled for a release next year.
Frightened Rabbit spent much of 2010 touring the globe in support of their acclaimed third studio album, "The Winter Of Mixed Drinks" (FatCat Records). The collection prompted the New York Times to put the band on the cover of the Arts section and exclaim: "It's anthemic: U2-style marches, with tremolo guitars, or folk-rock fingerpicking that starts to chime, as well as arena-singalong refrains that go ‘Whoa-oh-oh.'" What's more, "The Winter Of Mixed Drinks" was selected by NPR listeners as one of the best albums of the year.
Frightened Rabbit has impressed thousands upon thousands at a range of major festivals, including Lollapalooza and SXSW, not to mention international festivals such as Glastonbury, T In The Park, Oxegen Festival, and Latitude in the UK, and Australia's Splendour in the Grass. The band will also join this summer's RockNess Festival in Scotland.
