Ever since their wildly successful North American tour this spring, Frightened Rabbit has been racing across Europe non-stop, most recently making the rounds at UK festivals such as Glastonbury, T In The Park, Oxegen Festival and Latitude. Following a quick jaunt to Australia for Splendour in the Grass and headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, the band will make their Lollapalooza debut, helping to close out the festival on Sunday, August 8. "We have been looking forward to Lollapalooza for a long time and are really excited," exclaims frontman Scott Hutchison. "We are taking the long way round to Chicago... via Australia, so by the time we touch down we'll be simply itching to play. What a way to stretch off the DVT and cramp!"
Frightened Rabbit will return to the US in October for a month-long headline tour, joined by Montreal's Plants and Animals. This run will feature some of the band's largest shows to date, including Terminal 5 in NYC and The Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles. The septet's incessant globe trotting is in support of their acclaimed LP, "The Winter Of Mixed Drinks" (FatCat Records), which was recently selected by NPR listeners as one of the best albums of the year, echoing The Onion who called it "an early contender for best-of 2010 lists."
