Following the tremendous success of their last live Ustream event, Philadelphia indie-rock trio Good Old War will be doing weekly live performances on the website in anticipation of the June 1st release of their new album. Performances will take place every subsequent Monday at 7PM. Fans can view the sessions at www.ustream.tv/goodoldwar. The band's first live Ustream event, which took place on May 11th, attracted more than 20,000 viewers and resulted in more than a thousand Facebook and Ustream comments.
The band is gearing up for the release of their self-titled second album, which arrives June 1st on Sargent House. They recently performed at the Bamboozle in East Rutherford, NJ, where Rolling Stone called them one of the festival's "5 Breakout Bands to Watch" and described their songs as "filled with tight harmonies, jangly guitars and memorable, country-tinged melodies." Before that, they played several shows at the SXSW Music Conference in Austin, TX and completed a short run of dates with Circa Survive.
Good Old War's newest release is the result of several winter months spent holed up in a remote house in the Pocono Mountains, where band mates Keith Goodwin, Dan Schwartz and Tim Arnold crafted this earnest, original collection of songs in near-isolation.
Since their conception two years ago, Good Old War has shared the stage with The Gaslight Anthem, Heartless Bastards, Anthony Green, RX Bandits and The Honorary Title. Their single "Coney Island" enjoyed Triple-A airplay and the video was in heavy rotation on MTVu.
