Gotan Project To Release "Tango 3.0" On XL Recordings

After two million sales and 400 concerts worldwide, Gotan Project return with their third studio album, "Tango 3.0," out April 20 on XL Recordings. The group has received widespread critical acclaim, praised for "[uniting] Tango's past with its future" by NPR and hailed as "stunning, masterful" by The Guardian.

"Tango 3.0" arrives a decade after the group formed, still faithful to its founding principles of combining contemporary electronica with classic tango, but this time features a host of guests and collaborators. Dr. John contributes Hammond B3 organ licks on "Tango Square" and the work of legendary Argentinean author Jules Cortázar is honored through a reading from his novel Rayuela on the track of the same name. Even Victor Hugo Morales, the legendary football commentator, lends his vocals to first single "La Gloria" (paying homage to his famous goal proclamation that sound tracked Marradonna's "Goal of the Century" against England in the 1986 World Cup).

In 2000 Gotan Project, founded by Philippe Cohen Solal, Eduardo Makaroff and Christoph H. Müller, released their debut album "La Revancha Del Tango," a record that brought the sound of Argentina to the world. Their music is now familiar, from the clubs of New York to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. Second album "Lunático" (2006) saw Gotan Project breathing more live recording and jazz influence into their sound.
