Hardly Art Announces CMJ 2013 Showcase

On Thursday, October 17th, Hardly Art will partake in the annual CMJ festivities with our own showcase at Death By Audio (49 S. 2nd St.), featuring a bevy of our finest acts (and one on loan from our landlords at Sub Pop). Admission is $8 at the door on a first-come, first-serve basis, with the good times kicking off at 8 PM. The showcase poster was designed by The Beets' fourth member and resident artist Matthew Volz.

  • 8:30 PM - Hausu (Portland)
"A brilliant record, a fully realized and surprisingly dark debut that transcends the band's early buzz."
    -- The Portland Mercury

  • 9:15 PM - Lost Animal (Melbourne)
"A strange mix of electronic pop and global influences...it feels both sleazy and sincere." -- The Boston Globe

  • 10:00 PM - The Moondoggies (Seattle)
"Veering effortlessly between haunting, atmospheric numbers and brassy, Americana-inspired rock, [Adiós I'm a Ghost] is the soundtrack of a broken heart attempting to repair itself by simply moving forward and rocking as hard as it can."
    --Paste

  • 10:45 PM - Rose Windows (Seattle)
"Rose Windows posses a true and immense rock power...solid, compelling songwriting and sounds wonderful; heavy, spacious, guitars flare up amidst the smoke, and when these guys start to rip, there's no stopping them."
    -- Filter Magazine

  • 11:30 PM -The Beets (Queens)
"The Beets at their almost-best: peripheral, goofy, and inspiringly unconcerned with their own relevance."
    -- Pitchfork
