IAMX Reaches Its Crowd-funded Goal In Less Than One Hour

“Oh fuck me outrageously, I cannot understand this! 100% pledge crowd-funding reached in under an hour,” says a genuinely flummoxed Chris Corner, mastermind behind the internationally-renowned band IAMX about his just-launched project on PledgeMusic.com that went live earlier this week. With nearly 500 pledges received in the first 120 minutes alone and with 138 days still on the countdown clock, it’s safe to say his campaign to fund his new album and its international campaign is a major success. Never one to mince his words, he adds, “I want to have unbridled sex with every fan and throw myself into a pool of milk and Hersheys chocolate syrup.”

Currently working on the follow-up to his worldwide-lauded fourth album Volatile Times (61seconds/BMG), IAMX has been documenting the creation and construction of the new album on his YouTube channel. Like clockwork, Chris Corner has released a vlog update which has unveiled that Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Temper Trap, Sneaker Pimps) will be co-producing the album with him for release in 2013. More information will be released shortly.

Founded in 2004 after the dissolution of the celebrated triphop band Sneaker Pimps, IAMX has released four albums that cross genres from electro to dance to experimental burlesque to stripped-down pulsating ballads without losing its very-human soul. The media has taken notice, calling IAMX’s music "gorgeous... deliriously gloomy... and endearingly vulnerable" (Alternative Press), “hidden treasures for the ear that are so pristine, so lush and so near-perfect, that you want to share it with the world (9 out of 10)” (Blurt! Magazine), and “enthralling, highly theatrical mix of biting Brit Pop and electronica” (NYLON).

IAMX’s fifth as-yet-untitled album will be released in early 2013.
