Funk metal titans Infectious Grooves have announced their first show in over ten years on November 23. Sponsored by KROQ, set to take place at the House Of Blues in Hollywood, California, the show will make the band's only US appearance in 2010.
Infectious Grooves was formed soon after Robert Trujillo joined cross over thrash kings Suicidal Tendencies in 1989. Muir and Trujillo got together with some friends to write song that centered more around the bass, but with the intent of giving everyone else a whole lot of freedom. As a precursor to the performance, Suicidal Records released "Infectious Grooves/Cyco Miko's Funk It Up & Punk It Up: Live In France ‘95." Recorded live in Lyon, France in 1995 by soundman Tom Abraham straight from the board with zero sound alterations, this never-before-released double live gem features original Infectious Grooves members Mike Muir (Suicidal Tendencies), Robert Trujillo (now with Metallica), Dean Pleasants (Suicidal Tendencies), Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion) and Dave Nassie (former No Use For A Name; current Bleeding Through). The tour wound its way through Europe, with all the members pulling double duty playing Infectious Grooves and Cyco Miko sets each night.
In related news, Suicidal Tendencies, who recently announced their long-anticipated US tour set to commence later this month, have added additional dates to the trek including a performance at New York City's Terminal 5 with Cro-Mags and Underdog.
