Having played to thousands of rock fans on the just completed 2008 Rockstar Taste Of Chaos Tour, breakthrough artists The Underneath, and D'Espairsray made their presence known on the two-month, 34 US city tour.
Leaders of the burgeoning Jrock movement championed by tour founder Kevin Lyman, The Underneath and D'Espairsray won over fans on a nightly basis on RTOC, often creating lines of fans throughout arenas waiting at meet-n-greets. Fans at the Long Beach Arena show waited two hours for Jrock artist signings.
In announcing the Jrock Revolution coming to America, Lyman stated, "I felt that the fans across the US would really appreciate a chance to have these bands come to their cities. When I have worked these shows the energy of the bands and the fan involvement is amazing, and is rarely captured at shows in America these days. This is going to be an amazing opportunity for all in attendance."
Video shows worldwide have embraced the heavy, yet melodic, sound of D'Espairsray and The Underneath, adding the D'Espairsray music video for "Squall" and The Underneath'S "Gekkoh" to their rotation.
Most recently Canada's Much Music and MTV Latin America, an international video outlet that gets airplay in 21 Central and South American countries, as well as in the US, with a potential viewer ship of 35 million viewers, have come onboard. Regional outlets throughout the country are also adding the videos, including Los Angeles' "Notes From The Underground" with its 1.4 million potential viewers, as well as Rochester, New York's "Video Hits" which is exposing the bands to close to a million viewers in Rochester, Syracuse and Buffalo. Even "TV4OU" airing from the University of Oklahoma is currently playing "Squall" and "Gekkoh." Other outlets include Blender.com and Yahoo! Music.
Next month, May 3 and 4, D'Espairsray and The Underneath will take part in a two-day memorial concert for former X Japan guitarist Hide, who passed away ten years ago, at Tokyo's Ajinomoto Stadium. Among the 20 other confirmed acts on the bill will be Dir en grey, Lunasea and the world famous, X Japan.
