Psych-pop songstress Juliette Commagere and Pete Yorn will be teaming up for a four date West Coast tour, starting Thursday, August 20th. Commagere and her multi-piece band, which includes husband and drummer Joachim Cooder, recently returned from a 20-date European tour supporting Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe.
In between tours, Commagere has been spending time in Taos, New Mexico, where she is finishing work on her new album. As she once told the LAist in an interview, "I just [write] and [try] to escape...[the] crazy madness of LA." Commagere's as-yet-untitled album and followup to her solo debut "Queens Die Proudly" (Aeronaut Records), will build on her classical influences and showcase her sense of adventure and willingness to experiment. Commagere worked one of her new songs, "Hold On," into the set on her European tour, and will be debuting the song in the US for all to hear on this tour.
After this string of tour dates with Pete Yorn, Commagere will head to the studio to record her forthcoming sophomore release, before venturing out to the other side of the world once again with Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe. This time they will head west for a tour around Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
