LimeWire Store Releases "Ear To The Ground: No Depression"

LimeWire's digital music store, LimeWire Store, highlights the diverse Americana, alternative country and roots music communities with the release of Ear To The Ground: No Depression, an exclusive, free 26-track digital sampler. Produced in conjunction with the influential Americana and roots-music magazine and website, No Depression, the digital sampler's release coincides with the No Depression Festival taking place on August 21st at Marymoor Park near Seattle, Washington.

Ear To The Ground: No Depression is available exclusively through LimeWire Store and features tracks from artists playing at this year's festival, including Chuck Prophet and Grammy winners The Swell Season. The sampler also features tracks from popular alternative country music acts who have taken the No Depression stage over the past 15 years, such as Charlie Louvin, Waco Brothers, Sera Cahoone, and Mindy Smith.

In time with the sampler's release, LimeWire Store has expanded its roots music offering through the addition of Bloodshot Records' catalog. Now the trailblazing and genre-defying titles by Ryan Adams, Old 97's, Dave Alvin, Exene Cervenka, Alejandro Escovedo, and more can be found in LimeWire Store.

"Throughout No Depression's 15-year existence, it's always been about the music," said Kyla Fairchild, co-founder of No Depression. "We are excited to work with LimeWire Store in the creation of this album, highlighting some of the great indie, roots, Americana, and rock artists who have graced our stage over the years. As our community continues to grow, we're always looking for cool ways to reach new audiences. This sampler helps us do just that."

"Today we're happy to share our catalog with the music fans who visit LimeWire Store," said Nan Warshaw, founder of Bloodshot Records. "We have championed the music that lurks between genres since 1994. We're drawn to the good stuff nestled in the dark, where punk, country, soul, pop, bluegrass, blues and rock mix and mingle and mutate. We all appreciate that music is innovative and interesting when music fans are willing to take chances with it."

"Whatever you call the genre, alternative country, roots music, or Americana, the artists making this music share an independent DIY spirit and degree of honesty that's lacking from a lot of music today," said Tom Monday, Director, LimeWire Store. "It would be wrong to tip our hat to this music without drawing attention to both No Depression and Bloodshot Records. We're honored to be working with them."

Ear To The Ground: No Depression is part of LimeWire Store's Ear To The Ground series which provides artists with unique opportunities, while also giving music lovers a chance to experience new music without leaving home.
