Local H Drummer To Part Ways With Band

Statement from Local H regarding the departure of drummer Brian St. Clair: After 14 years with the band, Brian St. Clair will be stepping down as the drummer of Local H. This wasn't an easy decision, but the split was decided upon mutually and amicably.

Brian's farewell shows will be in September and October and will include a date at Chicago's Metro on September 7th, as well as a long awaited string of make up dates on the East Coast. Full list of shows below.

"I got to play with one of my favorite drummers ever - and that's awesome," says Local H frontman Scott Lucas. "Brian's one of the best musicians I'll ever play with. I can't thank him enough."

"It's been great to play with Scott the last 14 years," says St. Clair. "I'm very proud of my recordings and live performances with Local H. My sincere thanks go out to all the fans for their support over the years. It's been a great run, but all good things come to an end. I wish the new drummer, whoever it is, all the best. I will be focusing on my tour management and production company, Tour Time Productions, as well as other live and studio projects."

St. Clair joined pioneering, two-man band Local H in 1999, after stints in noted Chicago groups Rights of the Accused and Triple Fast Action. He has played hundreds of shows with Local H and has recorded four full-length studio albums, a live album and four EPs in the past 14 years, including last year's widely praised double-album, Hallelujah! I'm a Bum, and the Another February EP, out earlier this year (see Brian's Local H discography below). His first album with the band, Here Comes the Zoo (Palm Pictures, 2001) is set to be re-issued on Brutal Panda Records.

No replacement has been named yet. More details coming soon.
