Miniature Tigers Tour With The Morning Benders Ahead Of SXSW

Weeks after finishing "F O R T R E S S," the follow up to their well received debut "Tell It To the Volcano," Miniature Tigers will be hitting the road over the next two months supporting The Morning Benders. "F O R T R E S S" will be the bands second full length for Modern Art Records who recently partnered with Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group.

Chris Chu, lead singer of The Morning Benders co-produced the effort over a three week span in January at Dreamland Studios in Woodstock, NY. The upcoming 10 song album will be released this summer with the single "Gold Skull" featuring Neon Indian coming in May. The tour will start in Philadelphia, PA on March 10th, and circle the country including a stop in Austin, TX for a week at SXSW.

After a hot series of shows at CMJ in 2008 where both Spin and KCRW gave the band top marks, Miniature Tigers rallied through 2009 playing nearly 200 shows with the likes Ben Folds, Bishop Allen, Fun, Ruby Sons and Princeton. Their single "Cannibal Queen" (download MP3 here via AOL's Spinner) was a featured video on MTV2's Subterranean and received great support from folks like Morning Becomes Eclectic, XMU and Daytrotter.
