Seminal Scottish post-rock band Mogwai have announced their first official live concert film release "Burning" with accompanying live album "Special Moves." The film, directed by Vincent Moon and Nathanael Le Scouarnac of the world-renowned La Blogotheque’s Take-Away Shows, was shot at the band’s sold-out three-night residency at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg in April 2009.
Moon and Le Scouarnec call their film an “experience of the senses… a lifetime of feelings in just one night.” The release also includes "Special Moves," an 11-track live album. For a band who comes to such epic, monumental life in the live arena, it might be surprising that this is the first official live concert compilation they’ve ever released.
Fans can download for free the track “New Paths to Helicon Pt. 1” from the concert, as well as pre-order the limited edition album/DVD bundle (with the added bonus of 3 pieces of vinyl, signed poster and patch).
