Mon Khmer Drop "Anniversary" Remix By Bumblebeez's Karuna

Brooklyn's rising four-piece Mon Khmer have commissioned friend and musical guru Karuna of Bumblebeez to remix the stunning track "Anniversary," from their recently released digital EP "Birthplace."

Karuna best known for his membership in Australian tweak-hop group Bumblebeez, is the first to give Mon Khmer's "Birthplace" material a make-over, but certainly not the last. Putting his producer/instrumentalist expertise to practice, Karuna transformed the dark marching beats of "Anniversary" into a whole new arrangement fit for dance floors. Considering Mon Khmer's deep ties in the musical community (both locally in New York, and nationally) the list of friends who will have their way with the "Birthplace" originals is quite impressive, and under tight wraps. Stay tuned for the next installment.

The recently released debut EP, which harbors six of the most complex and ethereal indie rock songs of the year is being serviced digitally and is available below. While New York's L Magazine calls their music "heavy and dense, but in the best way possible" Stylecaster thinks of their work as "powerfully gentle."

For those of you in NYC, mark your calendars for November 17th as Mon Khmer will be playing a proper show to celebrate their new EP at Piano's (alongside Hooray for Earth and Autre Ne Veut). For the rest of you, hold tight as Mon Khmer will soon be hitting the road playing shows in DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and more.
