MVD Visual Announces Lene Lovich, Johnny Thunders, Cro-Mags DVDsMVD Visual has announced the upcoming DVD releases of Lene Lovich - Live From New York at Studio 54, Johnny Thunders - Who's Been Talking? and The Cro-Mags - Final Quarrel: Live at CBGB 2001. All three DVDs have an August 28th release date.

The Lene Lovich - Live From New York at Studio 54 DVD includes a rare performance from the always intriguing Lene Lovich, with Thomas Dolby on synthesizer, at Studio 54 in NYC on December 4, 1981. On this night, Lovich projected her strong soprano with brilliance and explored the limitations of her voice in a way other New Wave experimental singers of the time could only dream about. Of this show, Stephen Holden of the NY Times wrote, "Miss Lovich put on a fascinating show in which she sang, played the saxophone and danced with a lurching spontaneity that seemed half-demented. Her favorite mode is a wild, hiccupy vocal attack that often breaks into semi-improvisatory bird calling that soars easily to an E-flat above high C."

Johnny Thunders - Who's Been Talking? was filmed and recorded at Club Citta in Osaka, Japan on April 3, 1991 with the Odd Balls. It was one of the last concerts that the legendary Thunders ever performed. Running through a mixture of New York Dolls songs and original solo material, Thunders proves that he still had rock n' roll running through his veins right up until his untimely demise. Tracks include "Personality Crisis," "Born To Lose," "Gloria," and many more.

The Cro-Mags - Final Quarrel: Live at CBGB 2001 is it, the last Cro-Mags show at CBGB's, from 2001. Incredible, high energy set featuring almost all of the classic Age of Quarrel album. Multi-camera shoot captures the ferocity of one of the best hardcore bands of all time grinding through their best songs in front of a frenzied crowd. Bonus features galore, including a full set from Harley's War, bassist Harley Flannigan's post Mags band featuring members of Warzone and Murphy's Law. Other bonus features include Harley giving a tour of CBGB's and talking about what the club meant to him and tons of other kids who attended the famous Hardcore Matinees.
