MySpace Music "Readers Choice Award" Announced For Golden Gods Awards

MySpace Music, the world's premiere online music portal, is proud to announce a special MySpace Reader's Choice Award to be presented at the first annual Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods Awards. Taking place on Tuesday, April 7th at Club Nokia in Downtown Los Angeles, the show will feature performances by Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, All That Remains, Suicide Silence and a soon-to-be-announced special guest, Megadeth is confirmed as the headliner. The MySpace community will have the unique opportunity to vote for the recipient of one of the awards show's most coveted awards.

Between March 16th and March 31st, fans will be able to vote for the winning band on the MySpace Metal community page. Launched in 2007, MySpace Metal is the premiere metal community on the web and is home to hundreds of heavy metal artists, music videos, blogs, and behind the scenes interviews.

The nominees for the inaugural award are:

• Bleeding Through
• Unearth
• Protest the Hero
• The Acacia Strain
• Suicide Silence

Hosted by actor/comedian and metal aficionado Brian Posehn (The Sarah Silverman Program), the Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods Awards are America's first-ever hard rock and heavy metal music award show. In addition to the live ceremony on April 7th, the event will be broadcast on MTV2 as a one-hour special debuting Saturday, May 2nd. Rock legend and MySpace Music artist Ozzy Osbourne will also be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. With nearly half a million friends, Ozzy is no stranger to MySpace. In July 2007, Ozzy curated the MySpace Music homepage, providing fans with an exclusive interview and sharing his favorite artists and videos.
