The sixteenth installment of the punk rock summer camp that is The Vans Warped Tour will indeed have a healthy dose of punk rock purveyors. In what will no doubt be a historic year for Old Shoe Records, four different bands will represent the genre's fastest growing independent record label. Massachusetts' Far From Finished will bring their brand of melody conscious street punk to the SkullCandy stage all summer long. Illinois' finest and the newest addition to the Old Shoe family Flatfoot 56 will join the tour starting July 11th in support of their Old Shoe Records' debut "Black Thorn." The band will finish their run August 2nd but not before an epic hometown performance in Chicago, IL. Returning for the third consecutive summer, Warped veterans Longway will join the last leg of the tour from August 5th to 15th. Finally, post punk upstarts The Sparring will assume the crucial role of this summer's BBQ band, taking to the Ernie Ball stage during the day and the after party every night.
In just three years Old Shoe Records has gone from a regional punk rock label to one of independent music's most promising new contributors. With new full-length releases in 2010 from Flatfoot 56, Far From Finished, and The Sparring the Vans Warped Tour will serve as a national platform to some of the genre's most ambitious punk rock bands.
