Oren Lavie Donates Music Proceeds To Charity

Oren Lavie has announced that his hit single "Her Morning Elegance" is now available for free as part of Amie Street's Download To Make A Difference campaign. The Israeli singer who became an overnight sensation with the widely acclaimed music video for "Her Morning Elegance," which has garnered over 15 million views since January 20th, has teamed up with Amie Street to raise money for Magen David Adom - an Israeli non-profit that provides emergency medical services.

Twenty percent of all sales of the album, The Opposite Side Of The Sea, will go directly to Magen David Adom, which is an organization similar to the American Red Cross.

This is the sixth major release in Amie Street's Download To Make A Difference campaign, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Food Bank for New York City, Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, and other organizations in the past six months.

Songwriter Oren Lavie, who has drawn comparisons in the press to Nick Drake, the Beatles and Crosby Stills & Nash, released his debut album The Opposite Side Of The Sea today on his own imprint, A Quarter Past Wonderful, which he started with tastemaker and current KCRW host Chris Douridas.
