Pete International Airport Releases Their Debut LP On September 21st

The Dandy Warhols' second album, "...The Dandy Warhols Come Down," fades out with an ethereal song; six minutes of day-dreamy, atmospheric guitar based bliss. Born out of their guitarist messing around with a lot of pedals in different configurations just making noise, they recorded it with engineer Tony Lash who promptly slapped the label "Pete International Airport" on it. Ever since that day, Peter Holmstrom has known what his solo project would be titled.

When Holmstrom started playing in The Dandy Warhols, he admits that his talent on the guitar was limited. 15 years on, it's obvious that his guitar sound holds massive influence over countless other bands. Ranging from neo-psych, spaced-out garage and fuzzy goth, just listen to any psych rock album from this decade and you'll hear echoes of Holmstrom. Having sold tons of records and touring the world countless times with The Dandy Warhols, Pete International Airport sees Holmstrom stepping out as a band leader for the first time.

Writing predominantly on guitar, Holmstrom, culled his favorite noisy, droney, and atmospheric jams he'd written for the project. With help from friends in the Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Warlocks, Highway, The Upsidedown, M. Ward's band and Australia's Even, he holed up in the Dandy Warhol's recording studio, The Odditorium.

Pete International Airport steps into the spotlight and showcases an artist at his finest and most experimental. From now on, there are few people that will refer to Peter Holmstrom as "just the guitarist." Pete International Airport is available from Custom Made Music on September 21st, 2010.
