Quest For Fire Announces North American Tour Dates With Black Mountain

elebrated Canadian psych rockers Quest For Fire will team up with like minded music makers Black Mountain for a run of North American tour dates set to kick off on August 25 at the Waldorf Hotel in Vancouver, BC. The not-to-be-missed run of live dates will run through September 7 in Portland, OR. Quest For Fire continues to play shows around the world in support of its most recent release Lights from Paradise, which has been called "strobe-lit psych", by Pitchfork, "one of the most convincing guitar albums of the year" by Popmatters and "excellent" by SPIN.

Formed in 2007 from the ashes of garage-pop bastard-greats The Deadly Snakes and hardcore/crust band Cursed, Quest For Fire delivers "far-out trippiness" via long-form songs, distended, leaden riffs, heavy psychedelic swirl and solo-based jams that evoke memories of classic underground blues and garage rock from the '70s. The band's moody drift of layers and contrast has been called "riveting rock" that suggests "mutual interests in Black Sabbath sludge and druggy dream-pop." Quest For Fire's Chad Ross (guitar, vocals) and Mike Maxymuik (drums) were once members of the touring band for Steve McBean's band Pink Mountaintops and the connection between the Canadian rockers continues with the announcement of the upcoming tour pairing with Black Mountain.

In addition to Ross and Maxymuik, Quest For Fire features Josh Bauman (bass) and Mike Max (drums).
