  • Relapse Records will re-release Convulse's first proper full-length, "World Without God," this coming January. "World Without God" is an underground metal classic and will be available once-again for the first time in over 10 years on January 19th. The reissue will be re-mastered, repackaged, and feature the band's legendary 1990 demo, "Resuscitation of Evilness."
  • In April, Kill Rock Stars are set to reissue Elliott Smith's debut album "Roman Candle" as well as posthumous release "From a Basement on the Hill." To celebrate the reissues, ThinkIndie is offering a free download of "Cecilia/Amanda," a previously unreleased track written by Smith's high school band Stranger Than Fiction. The track was rerecorded by Smith in 1997 at Jackpot! Recording Studios with producer Larry Crane, who also worked on the "Roman Candle" reissue.
  • On December 19, 2009, legendary NJ thrashers Whiplash will play a benefit concert for Morgan Harrington, the 20-year-old student from Virginia Tech who was last seen on October 17th near the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia following a Metallica concert. The event is being held at The Canal Club in Richmond, VA and aims to raise awareness of Morgan's disappearance and support the Harrington family's ongoing search to find her. All proceeds will go to http://findmorgan.com. Other bands on the bill include Dangerous New Machine, At War and The Chaos Agent.
