Quick Hits & Clips: Pelican, Devendra Banhart, Baroness, Gaslight Anthem

  • In advance of its October 27th release, all eight tracks of Pelican's upcoming Southern Lord debut album "What We All Come To Need" is now streaming on the band's Myspace page.
  • "What Will We Be," the major label debut album from indie folk eccentric Devendra Banhart, doesn't release for another week, but as a special preview to fans, the album is streaming in its entirety, on Stereogum and IMEEM.
  • Baroness' brand new album "Blue Record" has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and #117 on the Billboard Top 200. The Heatseekers Chart lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists who have never appeared in the Top 100 of the Billboard 200. "Blue Record," the follow-up to 2007's "Red Album," saw its North American release last Tuesday, October 13th, and is currently streaming in its entirety at the band's MySpace page.
  • Check out The Gaslight Anthem this Friday night as they take over the XPN airwaves at 9PM EST. The punk rock Jersey quartet, best know for songs such as The 59' Sound, Old White Lincoln and Here's Looking at You, Kid will select some of their all-time favorite tracks. Band members Benny and Alex will play artists like Built To Spill, The Flaming Lips, Sam Cooke and many more. Plus, you'll hear Brian Fallon's acoustic performance from the Y-Rock studios last year.
