Quick Hits & Clips: 10,000 Lakes Festival, Riverboat Gamblers, Alexisonfire, Eels, Zero 7, Kinky, Cory Chisel & The Wandering Sons

  • For the first time, the 10,000 Lakes Festival (10KLF) is offering single day tickets for every day of the event, held July 22-25 in Detroit Lakes, MN. Offering smaller helpings of a big event, music fans can now sample 10KLF for as low as $85 per day, catching dozens of their favorite artists live outdoors while experiencing the Soo Pass Ranch's pristine natural beauty without having to commit to the entire four-day event.
  • Check out the brand new video from Riverboat Gamblers for the song "Victory Lap" off their album, "Underneath the Owl," out now on Volcom Entertainment. The video was directed by José Jones. The band just finished up a tour with Rise Against and Rancid and will be heading overseas for a European tour including dates at Reading and Leeds Festivals.
  • Alexisonfire have come back from 2006's breakout album "Crisis" with their highest single sales week ever in the US. The Canadian rockers' new disc "Old Crows/Young Cardinals" debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart this week at #81 and #9 in the independent album chart, selling over 5,700 copies -- an increase of 35% from first week sales of "Crisis." In their native Canada, Alexisonfirelanded at #2, selling an impressive 15,400 copies, coming in behind the Black Eyed Peas by less than 1500 units. In the UK, the album charted at #70, marking a 17% increase from their previous album.

  • Check our Zero 7's new track "Everything Up (Zizou)" remixed by Joker & Ginz, Mock & Toof, and Gold Panda. There's also a video for Joker & Ginz's remix. Zero 7 will release "Yeah Ghost" in the US on September 8th.
  • Kinky has a brand new music video for "Those Girls" featuring producer/musician Money Mark and Randy Ebright from Molotov.
  • Check out "Born Again," the first single off Cory Chisel & the Wandering Sons' debut LP "Death Won't Send a Letter," out September 29th. Also check out this clip which premiered on Paste last week and features Brendan Benson and Patrick Keeler from the Raconteurs. Benson and Keeler wrote "Born Again" together.
