Greg Prato will sign copies of his new book Grunge is Dead: The Oral History of Seattle Rock Music at The Book Revue in Huntington, NY, on Wednesday, April 8th at 7pm (313 New York Ave), and also at Easy Street Records & Cafe in West Seattle on Saturday, April 25th at 6pm (4559 California Ave SW). These events are free and open to public.
MySpace Music has a global exclusive premiere of Neil Young's new album, Fork in the Road. Fans can currently stream the entire album for free before it hits stores on April 7th. Fork in the Road features the single, "Cough Up the Bucks," the music video for the song recently premiered on MySpace Music as well. For this album, Young was inspired by the changes and challenges happening all around him, with special focus paid to the global economic crisis and climate change. The album is being released by Reprise Records.
The British bands Maxïmo Park and The Horrors head the latest list of additions to the FIB Heineken 09 line-up. Also added are The Walkmen, Elbow, Peaches, Lykke Li, Steve Aoki, The Mighty Stef, Gui Boratto, Klaus & Kinski, and Ratolines.
