  • During this week's episode of Spectacle: Elvis Costello with... , Costello welcomes singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright. Wainwright has made a powerful impression since bursting onto the music scene in the late '90s. With a singular voice, formidable songwriting skills and undeniably flamboyant stage presence - all of which are on generous display in this program - Wainwright holds nothing back, demonstrating his musical chops at the piano and discussing freely his passion for music, his complicated family dynamics and his status as an icon of the gay community. His mother, the Canadian folk legend Kate McGarrigle, even turns up to join in on an unexpected performance, and Costello covers a song by Wainwright's father, Loudon Wainwright III. Watch Rufus Wainwright's performance of "Memphis Skyline."
  • BaebleMusic.com has a new live performance of Bay Area band Audrye Sessions.
  • The Morning After Girls have announced two upcoming shows. The band will be playing at the Mercury Lounge in New York on January 27th and at LA's The Viper Room on January 29th.
  • On Thursday, January 15th Guitar Center's Drum-Off '08 champion Jerome Flood II will make his television debut with a performance on Last Call with Carson Daly. This past Saturday the 22-year-old resident of Atlanta was crowned winner of Guitar Center's Drum-Off '08, the world's largest drum competition.
