Quick Hits: Gogol Bordello, Shout Out Out Out Out, Unearthly Trance, Setting Sun

  • "Gogol Bordello Non-Stop," said to be the definitive feature documentary on the Gypsy punk rock band and international sensation and uncovers the insane party culture of the band and its leader and indie-movie-star Eugene Hütz, will be released on DVD March 16th.
  • Check out the music video for "Remind Me In Dark Times" from Shout Out Out Out Out.
  • Unearthly Trance were scheduled to begin work on their follow-up album to "Electrocution" this past weekend in New York, New York. This will be the trio's fifth studio album, aptly titled "V." They'll begin recording at SIR studios with engineer Sanford Parker overseeing the skeletal creation of the recording. The band will then continue to self-record with additional help from trusted experts along the way. "V" will also mark another twist on the band's sound, with slower paced riffs, raw sonics and even more progressed songwriting, the band is taking its sound towards creatively darker and strangely morbid realm. "V" will feature artwork by Glyn Scrawled and is expected to see a late spring release date.
  • Setting Sun, a.k.a. prolific songwriter Gary Levitt, will release his latest record "Fantasurreal" on June 1 from Young Love Records. The fourth full-length from New York State's indie folk pioneer, "Fantasurreal" finds Setting Sun exploring new, more electronic territory than his previous full-lengths. And in preparation for the release, Setting Sun has announced their first single, the album's powerful "Driving."
