  • Every week Jarrod Gorbel will be debuting a video of a song from his new album "Devil's Made A New Friend," which will be released on August 31. Each video features a collaboration with Jarrod and other musicians. The series debut's this week with the song "Impressions" and features NY singer songwriter Jaymay on vocals and Adam Rubenstein from the band Chamberlain on mandolin.
  • New Jersey folk metal horde Windfaerer recently posted two new tracks to their official MySpace page. "These Walls (Frozen In Time)" and "This Beautiful Death" (which features bagpipe work by Sevan Kirder, formerly of Eluveitie) come off the trio's debut full-length, "Tribus." Said main songwriter Goncalves of the new tunes: "'Tribus' is in essence a collection of everyday themes set in a time of Iberian legend. The songs touch upon rebellion against Romans in ancient Hispania and Lusitania, expansion to new lands, as well as voyaging into the unknown. I'm excited about the way everything sounds and how it all came together. I've had this vision for a while and it's almost euphoric to be able to finally realize it!"
  • MGMT stopped by CD101 in Columbus, OH last week to play a few tracks acoustically from their latest release, Congratulations. Check out the performances of "Song for Dan Treacy," "Congratulations," and a cover of The Clean's "Anything Could Happen."
  • Check out Hank & Cupcakes' new video for their cover of Joy Division's "She's Lost Control."
  • Disco Ensemble are in the middle of an European tour which will allow them to play in front of thousands of people. On their latest jaunt to Germany the band played in front of nearly 150,000 people at the Rock am Ring (Rock at the Ring) and Rock im Park (Rock in the Park) festivals, which are two simultaneous rock festivals held over two days. It's the largest festival in Germany and one of the largest in the world. To put it in perspective, Bonnaroo 2010 had an estimated audience of just shy of 90,000 people. Check out video footage of the band performing in front of a sea of people.
