Quick Hits: N2002, Frightened Rabbit, Twin Stumps, Dickies Sounds, Salem

  • Classic Swedish death metal outfit N2002 has announced that all original members will reunite for their first ever performance outside of Sweden at this year's Maryland Deathfest. N2002 will perform on Sunday, May 30th during this weekend-long festival that's held every year in Baltimore, MD.
  • With merely weeks left before the March 9 release of Frightened Rabbit's "The Winter Of Mixed Drinks" via FatCat Records, MySpace Music and NPR are offering a first listen to the band's highly anticipated album. MySpace is streaming the quintet's third full-length in its entirety and NPR will begin streaming the LP Saturday, February 27. Pitchfork exclusively premiered Frightened Rabbit's homemade video for their current single, "Nothing Like You."
  • Fan Death Records will be releasing Twin Stumps' "Seedbed" on April 20. This will be released on vinyl (which comes with a high quality download) as well as CD and digital download on all major download sites.
  • Dickies Sounds have announced their SXSW Event for March 18-20 at Lustre Pearl. Not only will the party feature top acts like She & Him, Broken Bells, Dr. Dog, Sondre Lerche, Surfer Blood, Rogue Wave, Cymbals Eat Guitars, The Temper Trap, Oh No Ono and many more, the party will also host live poster printing and a good ol' taco truck, to satisfy hunger in between epic tunes. SXSW badges are welcome, but plan on arriving EARLY as admittance will be first come first serve with a very limited guest list.
  • Israeli extreme metallers Salem have posted a track from their upcoming Pulverised full-length "Playing God And Other Short Stories." Check out "Drums Of The Dead Part 1" on the band's official MySpace page. More tracks from the record to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
