Righteous Fool, Featuring Corrosion Of Conformity Members, Announce December Tour Dates With Clutch

North Carolina's Righteous Fool, featuring Corrosion of Conformity bassist Mike Dean and drummer Reed Mullin along with guitarist Jason Browning, will play five dates in late December with Clutch. The tour follows the release of the band's debut single "Forever Flames/Edict of Worms" which was recently released on Southern Lord Records.

Righteous Fool recently played several dates with the reunited three-piece "Animosity"-era C.O.C lineup featuring Dean, Mullin and guitarist Woody Weatherman, and like C.O.C., they mix elements of hardcore punk with rock and metal. They opened for Clutch back in October, and are set to join the Maryland rockers again for a tour that begins on December 27th in Richmond, VA and wraps up on New Year's Eve in Asheville, NC. Also playing is Savannah, GA's Kylesa. The dates and venues:

  • 12/27 - Richmond, VA - The National
  • 12/28 - Clifton Park, NY - Northern Lights
  • 12/29 - Cleveland, OH - House of Blues
  • 12/30 - Cincinnati, OH - Bogart's
  • 12/31 - Asheville, NC - The Orange Peel

"Metal Psalter" described Righteous Fool as combining "the better elements of doom metal and hard rock with some intelligent alternative devices," while Aversionline compared it to C.O.C.'s post-"Blind" work, describing it as "heavy rock loaded with solid grooves that have plenty of those southern twists and turns."

"Forever Flames" and "Edict of Worms" is available as a limited-edition 7" vinyl release at Southernlord.com, Amazon, iTunes, etc.

The Fool is currently working on a full-length record tentatively set for a 2011 release and will soon announce springtime European dates.
