Los Angeles-based Americana band Rose's Pawn Shop has announced that they will release their sophomore CD, "Dancing On The Gallows" on August 3 and launch an extensive summer tour July 1 in Las Vegas. Described by AOL as sounding like "Del McCoury meets Mick Jagger," Rose's Pawn Shop's punk bluegrass-a-billy attitude and their genre-blending, boot-stomping tunes, will be extensively showcased throughout the summer. This is Rose's Pawn Shop's fourth annual exhaustive summer tour of saloons, wineries, cafés, breweries, clubs and festivals.
"Dancing On The Gallows" was produced by Ethan Allen (Gram Rabbit, Throwing Muses, Brant Bjork, I See Hawks in LA) and features 12 tracks: "Dancing On The Gallows," "Danger Behind The Wheel," "The Well," "Pine Box," "Ball of Flames," "Patiently," "The Bed In Which You Lie," "Straw Man," "Strangers," "One Last Glass Of Whiskey," "The Garden" and, "Debt Collector."
Seattle tastemaker radio station KEXP, in a recent review of Dancing On The Gallows said, "Rose's Pawn Shop is as close to authentic bluegrass roots as you can get from an L.A. band. This is a compliment, not a bash...Rose's Pawn Shop makes a statement with their music. Life is hard and we're gonna sing about it and get over it. Sometimes it's upbeat, sometimes it's slow and sorrowful. Regardless, they know their roots and that is remarkably bold."
