Rudely Interrupted Launch North American Summer Dates, Release New Album "Tragedy Of The Commons"

Following their 2008 maiden tour through North America and an unprecedented performance at the United Nations for International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Australian indie rockers Rudely Interrupted return this summer with a hefty tour schedule spanning across the East Coast and Canada to promote the release of their full-length debut album "Tragedy Of The Commons."

Rory (23), Sam (25), Marcus (30), Constance (46), Josh (23), and Rohan (38), make up Rudely Interrupted. Five out of six band members share a range of both physical and intellectual disabilities (Blindness, Deafness, Aspergers, Autism and Down Syndrome) but most importantly, a common interest in self-expression through music. In addition to forming the band, guitarist and backing vocalist Rohan Brooks leads the music-therapy program in Melbourne that helps people of all ages with intellectual disabilities.

Rudely Interrupted is neither a novelty act nor a cover band but rather an inspiringly brave and talented group of musicians that play uplifting indie pop laced with a compelling, human-interest story. The band has had the opportunity to shred the stage with the likes of Feist and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at one of Australia's most popular music festivals - the Laneway Festival.

During their North American tour in 2008, Rudely Interrupted were followed by a film crew who produced a critically acclaimed rockumentary for Australia's national broadcaster that followed the band on an adventure of a lifetime from pubs and clubs of Australia to the UN and beyond.

To mark the large-scale North American tour, the Rudely Interrupted team have just wrapped up a lustrous music video for the lead single "Close My Eyes" directed by Tov Belling. The music video won't be released for a couple more weeks but from the clips we've seen, the dusky, yet uplifting aesthetic chosen by the director captures the sleek catchiness that the band is renowned for, while climactically revealing the eclectic characters behind the indie pop bliss. "Close My Eyes" is the lead single off of the band's full-length debut "Tragedy Of The Commons" set for a Fall 2010 release in the US.
