Warped Tour's Kevin Says Stage developer and co-booker Sarah Saturday will present a daily workshop and meeting during each date of the 2010 Vans Warped Tour in conjunction with her philosophy-based music resource website, www.earnityourself.com. Saturday will conduct an informative session for bands and concertgoers who are interested in learning more about the music industry, and becoming more involved with their local independent music scene.
Each EIY Workshop on the 2010 Warped Tour will feature a presentation by Saturday, covering topics such as cultivating a thriving local music scene, how and when to take your show on the road, building a nationwide underground network, the role of fans in the success of bands, developing your personal philosophy in work/life, and more. Sarah will share her experiences in the music industry and give advice about how to turn a person's passion into a lifelong career, using the tenets of the EIY philosophy.
The Workshops and Scene Meet-ups will also include a "roll call" for attendees to meet and exchange contact information for networking within their local scene. Q&A panel sessions will include the founder of the Warped Tour, Kevin Lyman, as well as band members, tour managers, label reps, booking agents and other industry professionals.
A FREE "EIY Handbook" Publication will also be distributed at each date of the Warped Tour. This industry and scene guide includes 50+ questions asked by members of the EIY community and answered by Sarah Saturday as well as dozens of well-known artists and music industry experts, including:
