Skinny Puppy's Ogre To Release Devils In My Details In November

For more than 25 years, Ogre has pioneered electronic music, pushed its boundaries and has been a direct influence on some of the most cutting-edge rock (Nine Inch Nails, Tool) the world has seen in that time span as the legendary frontman for Skinny Puppy. On November 18 he unleashes his most personal and conceptual work to date under the guise of ohGr with Devils In My Details. The 11-track disc was recorded with longtime creative foil Mark Walk (Ruby) and is intended to emulate the immersive experience of such '70s progressive rock classics as The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway from Genesis and Tales of Mystery and Imagination by The Alan Parsons Project -- both of which were major influences on Ogre and Walk while growing up.

The album begins with "Shhh," a brisk martial blast that evokes everything from glam legends Sweet to mid-career Ministry. "Feelin' Chicken" is a jaunty tuba-punctuated track, seemingly sung by a deceptively friendly persona. "Timebomb" is pure tango for cybernauts and the ambient grittiness of "Smogharp" is in heavy rotation in Purgatory. In addition to all of the intricate sonic landscaping Ogre and Walk have crafted, the album is further heightened by the spoken-word performances of actor Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Army Of Darkness) who contributes wondrous imagery giving such tracks as "Psychoreal" and "Timebomb" an extra resonance.

At first listen, Devils In My Details seems to encapsulate everything fulfilling about Ogre, artistically, spiritually and emotionally. Personally, he's glad he had a chance to make the effort. "I'm grateful to be able to make a record like this," he says. "If we were in any other situation, the standard model is to write two hit singles and fill in the holes as best you can. That's the mode a lot of musicians are in right now. We're trying to do things from the heart, regardless of what the commerce end of music dictates."

Also part of the major multi-media impact Ogre is making this Fall is the upcoming horror epic Repo: The Genetic Opera in which he stars alongside Paris Hilton, Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Alexa Vega (Spy Kids) and opera megastar Sarah Brightman, with whom he incredibly pairs with on two duets. The film, which is being described as Blade Runner-meets-The Rocky Horror Picture Show, hits theatres via Lion's Gate Entertainment on November 6th.

ohGr will kick off a major-city US tour in support of Devils In My Details this Fall. "Timebomb" will serve as a single from the album, which will mark the first radio support given to an Ogre project in over 15 years.
