Solid Gold Brings Slinky Neo-Disco To West Coast

Fresh from their SXSW blitzkrieg, which consisted of seven incredibly successful shows, Minneapolis-based electro-poppers Solid Gold are headed to the West Coast for a series of gigs including dates with UK soulster Jamie Lidell and San Francisco dance-punkers Lemonade.

Solid Gold's latest release, the "Synchronize" EP, climbed the CMJ Top 200 chart and follows their debut LP, "Bodies of Water." Both include EP title track, though their most recent includes a remix by White Sea, also known as Morgan Kibby of M83 (Kibby appears on Saturdays = Youth).

MTV2's "Subterranean" crowned Solid Gold Buzzworthy adding Green Label Sound-released single "Matter of Time" into rotation, and inviting the band to host an episode last month. They also declared their music: "A slinky, sexy, sophisticated mix of indie, electro and soul; like if the Purple One fronted Death Cab For Cutie." The band has also made waves in the UK, inciting the notoriously snarky NME to exclaim: "This totally, totally addictive piece of laid-back, twinkling Minneapolis funkiness, has us mercilessly hooked."

The trio's hypnotic electro beats have been permeating the trendsetting populace, namely the W Hotel chain who added "Get Over It" into rotation at locations nationwide. Meanwhile, Keds commissioned the band to create a line of limited edition dance floor-ready shoes to match their dance floor-ready grooves.
