On September 15, 2009, Wind-up Records will release the highly anticipated sophomore album, "A Time For Lions," from the Portland-based trio (Kevin Calaba, Jason Bell and Daniel Orvik) Stars of Track and Field. The album will be released digitally at iTunes on September 1st, 2009. "A Time For Lions" was produced by John King of the Dust Brothers (Beastie Boys, Beck, Linkin Park, Carlos Santana) along with Stars of Track and Field who co-produced five of the eleven tracks - "End of All Time," "Now You Lift Your Eyes To The Sun," "Safety in Numbers," "The Stranger," and "Sunrise Ends."
The new release follows the bands' debut for Wind-up, 2006's "Centuries Before Love and War." That album received rave reviews from the press including 4 stars in Alternative Press Magazine. Chord Magazine raved, "With this amazing debut, the Stars will undoubtedly put themselves further ahead of the pack, because, well, when it gets down to it, regardless of similarities, they're infinitely more exciting than anything the Northwest mainstreamers have been offering in recent years."
